Privacy Policy

The OTF Archives Chrome Extension · Effective date: June 2026

Short version: We collect nothing. We store nothing on any server. We don't know who you are. We don't want to know. Your treasure collection lives on your computer and goes absolutely nowhere.

What data we collect

None. The OTF Archives does not collect, transmit, or share any personal information whatsoever.

What the extension stores

The extension uses chrome.storage.local to save your treasure collection on your own device. This includes:

— The keys and names of treasures you have collected
— The forum topic IDs where treasures were awarded (to prevent duplicate awards)
— The date and week each treasure was collected

This data never leaves your browser. It is not transmitted to any server, not shared with any third party, and not accessible to anyone other than you.

What the extension accesses

The extension runs only on chess.com Off-Topic Forum topic pages (chess.com/forum/view/*). On these pages it reads a stable topic identifier from the page in order to determine whether a treasure should be awarded. It does not read, collect, or store any other page content, your chess.com account details, your username, or any personal information.

Third parties

The OTF Archives has no backend, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party integrations of any kind. It does not contact any external server.

Children's privacy

The OTF Archives does not collect any data from anyone, including users under the age of 13. There is nothing to collect.

Deleting your data

Uninstalling the extension permanently and immediately deletes all locally stored data. You can also clear your collection at any time by clearing your browser's extension storage.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL. Given that we collect no data, we do not anticipate this policy changing in any meaningful way.
